1974
Fancy {owner of Cactus Creek} was born in the heart of Texas ~ Fancy was not the name her momma & daddy gave her on that day.

1979
Fancy was living with her parents in Hunstsville, Texas where her Daddy was in charge of the Texas Prison Rodeo.  That is where the love for all things cowboy first got fired up.

1986
Fancy went on a three week ‘West Coast Tour’ with her 6th grade classmates.  The sound of the highway captured her spirit.

1991
The television show Northern Exposure was a hit and Fancy fell for all things outdoor & rustic ~ she was determined to live a life more simple than the urban jungle of Houston where she had lived since the 2nd grade.

1992
Fancy headed to Texas A&M where she graduated with a degree in Marketing and Retail Studies.  She also got the name Fancy from some drunk girls in her dorm ~ the girls have moved on but the name stuck.

1996
Fancy went to Kansas for a job.  She soon moved to Kansas City for a better job with Anteks Home Furnishings on the Kansas City Country Club Plaza.

1999
Fancy stayed in Kansas for a boy.  There was wedding in Vegas… ah, love.

2000
Fancy and her new Mother-in-Law {Connie} decided to open their own retail store, Cactus Creek.  It all began with a trip to Mexico and a barn full of furniture that was only open on the weekends.

2002
The whole family moved to Weston, MO {best decision we ever made!!} and we opened a new Cactus Creek Store in an old barn on the highway – 6000 sq. feet of Rustic Furniture, Western Style and Vintage Charm.

2003
Fancy had a baby {conequently Connie had a grandbaby}.

2005
Fany got pregnant with another baby.  Connie and Fancy decided it was time to close the big store on the highway.

2006
Fancy got pregnant with another baby.  We figured out why we kept having babies.

2008
CactusCreekDaily.com was launched ~ the idea was to be a website / online magazine that was all about the Rustic * Western * Vintage Marketplace ~ the goal was to connect consumers with the industry.

2009
Fancy decided she wanted an office to use as a home base for the Cactus Creek website and decorating work. Within a few weeks she realized how much she missed having a retail store and quickly moved into a fantastic building at 400 Main Street in Weston, MO.  That location opened on Halloween Day, 2009.

The rest of the story is ahead of us ~ we are a family owned business and we love to travel all over the country finding the things & people we love, and bringing them back to the place we love here in Weston MO.  Best of all, we love sharing this merchant life with the customers who walk through the door.  Hope to see you soon at the Cactus Creek Store ~ YOU are the rest of the story.
