When contemplating the Wild West images of intense romance and rugged adventures flood our minds. And at the end of a day full of Wild West adventures we imagine going home to a glowing fire, a comfortable chair, and a warm drink…
It is that comfort and warmth that is at the core of Cactus Creek‘s philosophy. We strive to attain that priceless calm for each of our client’s homes and hope that all of our readers will also achieve the joy of a home where they are happy end their day. Because, whether out on the range, or in a suburban sprawl, we should all know the peace of a comfortable home.

History_copy.gif
After hearing from many friends, family, and fellow consumers about the need for better sources for western and rustic furniture daughter and mother-in-law team, Tracy “Fancy” and Connie Smith, created Cactus Creek Trading Company in September of 2000. Passionate about their homes and about finding unique items with rustic style and western design they have remained driven over the past seven years to continue to bring customers the unique, quality merchandise and service that they have come to expect from Cactus Creek.

tracy taylor smithThe Cactus Creek adventure began after a vacation to Mexico - It was on this trip that the duo realized that the craftsmen and artists who have been creating wood, leather, and iron pieces for centuries could provide the remarkable rustic furniture that is so difficult to find in the Midwest. Since that trip to Mexico seven years ago Cactus Creek has gone through many changes… For the first 18 months that Cactus Creek was in business they operated out of the barn behind the family’s home. Cactus Creek then moved to a store in Weston, Missouri where they flourished for 3 years but ultimately decided that it was not the right fit for the business and the women’s family lives. So in September of 2005 Tracy and Connie once again set out to re-define Cactus Creek and the method in which they would offer customers the distinctive furniture and home accessories for which Cactus Creek has become known.

Cactus Creek now offers their unique Western & Rustic merchandise through Shopping Events in the Midwest and a small retail “boutique” at Mission Road Antique Mall in Prairie Village, Kansas. Cactus Creek’s space is on the second floor, just up the stairs from the front entrance of the Antique Mall. In addition to the booth at Mission Road Antique Mall Tracy and Connie offer Interior Consulting Services.

In the Spring of 2008 CactusCreekDaily.com was launched in an effort to provide a much-needed service to the consumers and retailers that make up Rustic * Western * Vintage home decor market.

Tracy and Connie are excited about the future of Cactus Creek and they are so grateful to each and every customer who has offered their support and friendship over the past seven years - they look forward to working with you in the future.
