Whether it is styling a living space, or merchandising a retail store, a touch of VINTAGE gives a space CHARACTER. 

For many of us, scouring flea markets, antique stores, and estate sales is a BLAST, and a great way to find the treasures that will spice up our place.  But for others there is no time and {gasp} it’s no fun to go on a treasure hunt.  So, for those of you who aren’t enchanted by the hunt, I have found a few sources of VINTAGE that you will LOVE!!

MEXICAN IMPORTS.COM

At Mexican Imports.com you can find an extensive selection of VINTAGE, mostly in the form of Mexican Antiques. 
These are the real deal, found and cleaned up, then delivered to your casa.  I love using these Saddle Trees as book holders or, in the guest bathroom, stacked with rolled up towels.

ONE COOL RANCH

One Cool Ranch offers an amazing selection of Cowboy * Indian * Hunting * Fishing * Rustic * Tramp Art…  and SOOO MUCH MORE!!  The Vintage boots below are just a sneak peek of their selection, be sure to also check out their Vintage Lighting, and also the Taxidermy which is majestic.

GARLAND’S RUGS

Since 1976 Garland’s Rugs has been specializing in new and vintage Indian Arts & Crafts ~ Navajo Rugs are their specialty.  A worthy investment, antique rugs {like the one BELOW} are a stunning way to decorate a wall.

SWEENEY’S EMPORIUM

In August we had a feature story about Sweeney’s Emporium.  Below is yet another treasure from these folks, a Vintage Cowgirl Postcard ~ I LOVE to tuck classic images like these into mirrors and art around the house.  Paired with a Framed Rodeo Queen Print, this image completes a story of independent cowgirls from years gone by.

BITTERROOT BIT & SPUR

Based in Hamilton, Montana Bitterroot Bit & Spur offers Western Furniture, Art & Fashion.  The antique spurs below caught my eye… wouldn’t these look great propped on top of a stack of vintage books, or used in a shadow box??  Love ‘em!!

LEN WOOD’S INDIAN TERRITORY

I have fallen HARD for the vintage jewelry offered at Len Wood’s Indian Territory.  A venerable selection of “Pawn” jewelry, all of it is hand crafted by the masters of original American jewelry design.  A few good pieces like this one will add STYLE to the most basic outfits {think roughed up jeans, a white tank & old boots ~ this bracelet and your done}.

RUXTON’S TRADING POST

These Vintage Angora Chaps are such a treasure… I would love to see them hanging on a stone fireplace, or above a guest bed. Located at the base of Pikes Peak, Ruxton’s Trading Post features Cowboy and Indian Antiques and Collectibles and Native American Art.

CAYUSE WESTERN AMERICANA

From Vintage Cowboy to Native American artifacts, to National Parks memorabilia ~ Cayuse Western Americana offers a wealth of antique merchandise.  The totem below is a wonderful piece that would add character to any room.  Very simple decor can come alive with one superb piece like this Thunderbird Totem.

Some vintage artifacts can be quite an investment; the beauty is that they are often one-of-a-kind, telling a unique story of the places they’ve been, making your home radiate warmth and authenticity. 

That said, there are sweet deals to be had in flea markets and antique malls across the country.  Another GREAT place to find something dingy that you can spiff up, is at your LOCAL TACK AUCTION.  Farmers bring in whatever they’ve been gathering in their barn and I’ve found some amazing treasures hanging out at those Monday night gatherings…  Check your town paper {the rural edition is even better!!} and find out what’s happening this weekend in your neck of the woods.
