We had two new girls move into the Cactus Creek Lower Level Marketplace this afternoon.  Weehaw!!  It’s super frilly girl stuff ~ tutus, tees for little ones, caps & hats & BOWS.  The Cactus Creek Store  is definitely going to be a one-stop shopping spot for all your Fashion, Decor & Gift needs.  Hope to see y’all here in Weston MO verrry soon.  Like maybe this Saturday {3.13.10}… it’s gonna’ be hopping for Snake Saturday!!

Over the last month the Cactus Creek STORE has had a bit of a growth spurt.  Mid October we were presented with an opportunity to move into a different space in downtown Weston, MO ~ after about 2 seconds of consideration we didn’t just jump into it, we took a Gi*Normous LEAP of FAITH and moved everything into a 2000 sq foot space across the street from our old place, and also increased our hours to be
OPEN Tuesday thru Saturday from 10am till 5pm.

Before I get into the nitty gritty details of the new space let me tell you what’s happening this weekend {Nov. 21st & 22nd, 2009}… Every December Weston MO hosts a Christmas Homes Tour with several homes dressed in their best Christmas cheer.  This weekend’s annual tour will include four antebellum homes along with two downtown lofts of the same era {I’m especially excited to see the lofts!!}.  

Father Christmas will also be roaming the streets… it’s not too late to get your pictures with him for Holiday cards!!  Sooo, be sure to visit Weston this weekend to fill your soul with a little Christmas Cheer and of course, swing by the new Cactus Creek STORE.  We’ll be open all day Saturday and we’re excited to show off our new space ~ hope to see you!!!!!

Now that business is taken of I’m excited to share all of the details about the new Cactus Creek STORE.  Let me warn you, this is a long one… As some of you know we opened our first Cactus Creek Store almost ten years ago when we operated out of the barn behind our home, then we moved into a large store in Weston MO.  Before I had boy #2 we closed that space because, frankly, I was totally overwhelmed with such a big store and the idea of also being a mommy to two.  I’ve never once regretted closing that store ~ it was the right thing to do at the time.  I needed a break to spend time with babies {boy #3 came within another year after that}, and I also took some time to help my husb launch his business.  I also had the opportunity to start CactusCreekDaily.com which has helped me to see my own business, and the Western * Rustic * Vintage market in general, in a whole new light.

Last April we opened a new Cactus Creek STORE in a teeny~tiny space here in Weston MO… the idea was to have an office for me to work out of for the website and also to meet with the decorating clients that I’ve continued to work with over the last few years.  We’ve also had several special events featuring artists and trunk shows throughout the summer.  Well, after that new little space was open for about two weeks, I got bit reallllly badly by the ‘merchant bug’.  I quickly realized that I was ready for another real store, even though that was the last thing I was expecting for myself.

It was a great weekend at the Cactus Creek STORE… the new artwork from Rhett Johnson and Dolan Geiman was a BIG HIT… check out the photos that Rhett’s wife, Kelly Buntin Johnson, took of her hubby’s work in the store… she’s brilliant, I swear!!

This past weekend at the Cactus Creek Store in Weston, MO was a great time!!  We had Corpirate and Prairie Jeweler visiting and they both brought fabulous stuff, the Junk Mafia hung out with us all day on Saturday and the afternoon ended with a impromptu karaoke street party.  It was a great time with some of coolest people you’ll ever know!!  Hope to see you in September when we do it all over again… I’m already planning a fabulous cocktail party for artists Rhett Johnson and Dolan Geiman.  Yaahaw… hope you can be there!!

Oh boy… we have such a big weekend ahead of us here at the Cactus Creek store in Weston, MO, I can hardly stand it!! 
To start off we are having not one, but TWO huge trunk shows!!
Kat Ford from Corpirate will be here all the way from NEW MEXICO and Michele the Prairie Jeweler will also be in the house.  If y’all don’t already know it, let me tell you they are super talented, great fun and have fabulous one-of-a-kind stuff.

 Not enough for you??  Well, Ms. Danielle from Western Glamour Media is also going to be visiting {you might know her from HauteCowgirl.com, she has a hot new website called WesternGlamour.com that is coming soon and you are going to love it!!}.  Danielle lives all the over on the West Coast and I’m just tickled pink that she will be joining the weekend’s festivities.

What more do you need to want to make the trip to Weston, MO this weekend??  After all, we’re smack dab in the center of the country, not more than a 20 hour road trip for any of you!!  How about a HUGE Antique & Garden Show… yep, we’re having that, too this weekend.  Weston’s 10 Mile Trail Antique & Garden Show will be satisfying our craving for vintage goodies all day Friday and Saturday.

Last but not least the Junk Mafia will be broadcasting their Junk in my Trunk Radio Show live on Saturday morning outside of Cactus Creek with tons of giveaways from Weston, MO merchants and lots of other fun goodies!! For those of y’all not familiar, the Junk Mafia is made up of two Kansas City fellas, Darren Smith and John Todd, who host a radio show three times a week that’s called Junk In My Trunk Radio Show.  They are a total hoot and a pair to watch as I’m sure they’ll be sky-rocketing to fame in no time!!

Rhett Johnson is a talented artist and sculptor who thrives on finding cast~offs and turning them into fabulous art.  He has made his magic happen once again with this hip PIG… 

It began as a Stockyard sign {LEFT ~ it was already pretty cool!!}, Rhett’s transformation turned it into a great FOCAL POINT peice of art {it’s BIG… 30″ x 41″}.  I would just love to see this hanging out on a sun porch or in a breakfast nook…

pssst… Rhett’s work will be in the Cactus Creek Design*Studio in September and October… it will be a great exhibit of funky art, wild sculptures, and LOTS of red rats…
