Father’s Day Gift GUIDE

Once again we are faced with the endless question of what to get the Men in our lives for Father’s Day… your guess is as good as mine but here are some Rustic * Western * Vintage ideas to get you started!!
Green Stanley Flask
Pocket sized for an itsy bitsy jolt of fun…
Dada Exclamation Point Letterpress Print
Over the last few years the appreciation of letterpress has gained in popularity. A labor-intensive art where no two pieces are ever the same, the prints and postcards make lovely accents for walls of art, as well as dandy gifts. Originally designed for a Dada Art Exhibition, I think can’t help but think how sweet {and hip} this print would be for a brand new daddy.
Sterling Cuff Links {Personalized}
My hubby is more of a jeans and t-shirts kind of guy, but when we do get all gussied up then cuff links are a must have. These Personalized Sterling Cuff Links are a great gift… think of something ORIGINAL for the personalization ~ like maybe the name of the first restaurant you dined at together?? Or the name of the restaurant you ate at the night you made a little one?? {that one got you smiling, didn’t it…}
Scully Men’s Western Shirt ~ Desert Wings
I adore the man who can pull this off… a vintage~styled Western shirt, hip jeans and polished boots. **swoon**
Dominoes
Back in my days as a student at Texas A&M, playing dominoes at the Dixie Chicken was the perfect way to spend an afternoon… games, burgers & cold beverages. It’s still not a bad way to pass an afternoon, plus playing games will give you hours of family time, and that makes everyone happy.
Ski Barstools
These Ski Barstools typify the Reuse * Repurpose * Recycle mantra. Made with pre~used snow skis these Barstools are just one option… the SnowSource General Store also sells Adirondack chairs, office chairs, hall trees, and wine holders ~ all made using recycled snow skis and snowboards. You can even send in your Dad’s old skis that he just can’t bear to give up and they’ll make something just for him!!
Buckle Holder Frame
These are obviously a great idea for your typical horse~broncin’, calf~ropin’, bull~ridin’ cowboys ~ a lovely way to display the Belt Buckle Trophy along with the winning photo. For the rest of us who are more of the Urban Cowboy sort, how about a vintage buckle from the flea market, or a gorgeous turquoise buckle from your favorite jewelry designer, still with a winning photo.
1846 Map of the Old West
A famous map re-created to perfection. This is an ideal gift for the man whose heart belongs in the Wild West.
1963 Willys Utility Wagon
Last year it was the COOLEST Custom Cowboy Bike ever for my hubby’s dream Father’s Day gift… this year I’ve gone a little more conservative and picked out a dream gift that our whole family can enjoy. This 1963 Willys Utility Wagon would be PERFECT for our spontaneous road trips, Sunday drives and date nights to the city.
My Daddy…
I did this last year and I’m compelled to share it again… this will be the second Father’s Day that I will not be celebrating with my own Dad. My daddy, Dr. Ronald Dean Taylor, passed away from colon cancer eighteen months ago.
For all the Dads, Husbands and Sons that are battling this awful disease, I would like to ask you to make a donation to either of the organizations below, or wherever else your heart may lead you…

Do I need to pick up the Willys or will you drop it off. If you drop it off, just leave the keys above the visor.

I must be getting sentimental in my old age…the best gift is the last one, your Dad with you. A gentle reminder that it’s not always about “the stuff” we give and receive. It’s about the love that both surrounds and protects us while encouraging us to follow our dreams.
The Willys, and last year’s bike, are pretty good too!
