JIMT Idea: MAPS
Last week I was cleaning out my car and found at least four maps stuffed into the pockets behind my front seats. One was from a spontaneous road trip to Des Moines last summer {that’s a looong story}, another from last fall’s trip to Texas, and of course our giant atlas map that has somehow become a coloring book for the boys.

{Country Home Magazine}
For a brief moment I was tempted to throw out the juice-stained maps, most if which also feature muddy footprints from my boys who are forever pulling stuff out of the car pockets & stepping all over it… But then I realized the stains and rumples are the BEAUTY of the maps. They tell the stories of our big adventures. The destinations we’ve dreamed of, the detours we took along the way, and the funny and funless stops, spills & series of events along the way.

So whatever you do, don’t throw away those maps!! And if you find an old box of them at a sale this spring ~ snatch them up… There are far too many ideas for using them ~ in addition to the ideas shown in these images you can also use your old maps for scrapbooking, collage art, and decoupaging furniture… it’s a great way to preserve the memories of where you’ve been {or where you hope to go}.
