Round Top ANTIQUE WEEK {Fall 09}: Marburger Farm’s ARTIST TENT ‘G’
I love it that Marburger Farm offers more than just ANTIQUES at their venue during Round Top Antique Week. For all of us who love antiques and all things vintage, we also have a soft spot for original art, especially when it involves recycling junk and re-purposing natural materials. The artists that make up Marburger Farm’s ARTIST TENT ‘G’ have these subjects covered entirely…
Vintage Sculpture {ABOVE} is a husband & wife team made up of Brad & Sundie Ruppert from Des Moines, Iowa. Using paint, beads, bottle caps, wire, old tins and even a few instruments… plus A LOT of PASSION, Brad & Sundie’s work has become a recognizable example of recycled art.
Also in the ARTISTS TENT ‘G’ is another Husband & Wife team, Rick & Denise Pratt from Around the Bend Willow Furniture {ABOVE}. Based in Wooster, Ohio, Rick & Denise have spent a lifetime on the road sharing their twig furnishings with the world. The creative designs and fabric for cushions often comes from Denise while Rick works hard to build quality furniture that will look great in your home for generations to come.
Found Images {ABOVE} also calls the ARTISTS TENT ‘G’ at Marburger Farm home during Round Top Antique Week. Owned by Catherine Miles, Found Images offers extraordinary images displayed on pillows, t-shirts, canvases, mouse pads, and of course, LAMP SHADES. The vintage style and Western * Rustic feel of Catherine’s images has always been intriguing to me but it was the Indian Images {last pic on the slide show above} that had me head over heels on this trip. LOVE it!!!
THANKS to the Rupperts, Pratts and to Catherine!! See ya’ on the black top… cheers, fancy
