ROUND TOP {Spring 09}: Corpirate
A little bit country, a little bit rock & roll, Corpirate
is a break~through fashion company that is all about
contradicting mainstream street wear
and embracing your own personal style.
Founded by Katherine Stern, Corpirate had their second showing at Round Top this spring where they debuted several new items including a range of hand painted beads, boxes & belt buckles, plus Corpirate~inspired Shirts, and much more.

For a long while Western shirts detailed with pearl~snap buttons have been the style of choice for fine cowboys everywhere ~ their own signature style that sets Sunday shirts apart from Ranch shirts. Over time the pearl~snapped Western shirt has evolved from simple plaids to ornately designed shirts from legendary vendors like Rockmount. In this time of economic instability a new generation of fashion has emerged making the simple old plaid farm shirts of yesteryear suddenly new again, and extremely popular amongst cowgirls, gypsies and rockabillies everywhere.
Corpirate is breathing new life into these vintage threads by appliqueing leather, hide, beads and shells to the old shirts in the form of hip designs that will make you swoon. I am in love with these shirts and I just had to have one of my own {mine is light blue with Day of the Dead skeleton in off white leather… it is so fine}. Not only can you order these shirts for yourself by contacting Katherine HERE. You can also order these shirts, and many of their other exclusive designs, WHOLESALE for those of you with retail stores.

In addition to hot new apparel Katherine also puts her heart and soul into the whimsical art that she applies to… well, pretty much anything. I just love this skull that she painted, what a wonderful example of modern folk art. The plate is also a modern twist on a classic theme.

What makes Katherine stand apart from the crowd is her passion and her authenticity. She is talented and determined and she is going FAR. You better start your Corpirate collection NOW because pretty soon the whole world will be singing Pirate CHANTS and dressing like CORPIRATES.
I will close by sharing the text that is on Corpirate’s “Dirty Red Bandanna” shirt. Katherine has captured all of the things that makes American beautiful on this tee…
"COUNTRY MUSIC,ROCK AND ROLL, SIMPLE SONGS, SINGING OUT LOUD, DANCING, GUITARS, DRUMMERS, OPEN ROADS, RED WINE, RUM, TEQUILA, COLD BEER, BASEBALL, FOOTBALL, LATE NIGHTS, EARLY MORNINGS, THE EXCITEMENT OF TOMORROW, WHITE BEACHES, BLUE SKIES, SAIL BOATS, PIRATES, CORPIRATE, SATURDAY’S AT THE BAR, SUNDAY SERVICES, CAMPFIRES, WEEKENDS AT THE LAKE, TRUCK BEDS, TAILGATES, HOT SUMMER SUN, STRAWBERRIES, ICE CREAM, BLUEJEANS, WORN OUT TEES, FLIP FLOPS, BLACK CHUCKS, BANDANAS, PUFFER VESTS, PEARL SNAP SHIRTS, BALL CAPS, BIG SUNGLASSES, NEW BOOTS, OLD FRIENDS, SOFT BEDS, FLAMINGOS, ZEBRA PRINT, PAISLEY, SERAPES, FRESH WATER PEARLS, DAISIES, PRESENTS, BIRTHDAYS, CHRISTMAS, FAMILY, POWER OF PRAYER, PROMISE OF HEAVEN, QUIET MOMENTS, LOUD CROWDS, HARD WORK, STEALING TIME, YOUTH, GRACE, FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, AMERICA"
